TDAC for Thailand - Thailand Tour Package

Before booking a Thailand tour package, know this: The Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) is an online system that replaces the traditional TM6 paper form for foreign travelers entering Thailand, effective May 1, 2025. This digital initiative aims to streamline the immigration process, enhance efficiency, and reduce processing times at entry points.

Difference between TM6 paper vs TDAC:

TM6 Paper

TDAC

  • It was the arrival/departure card every foreigner had to fill out on the plane or at the airport.
  • Filled manually on the flight given to immigration officers when entering and leaving Thailand.
  • Submit the immigration.
  • This is the digital version of the TM6 paper form.
  • Fill online before arriving, no need for paper forms.
  • Submit digitally before it arrives.

Purpose and Benefits of TDAC:

For Foreigners

Pre-Arrival Convenience: Submit the required information online before departure, eliminating the need to complete forms during the journey or upon arrival.

Faster Immigration Clearance: Pre-submitted details facilitate quicker processing at immigration checkpoints, reducing wait times.

Enhanced Security: Accurate and verified personal data contributes to improved security measures.

For Thailand Government:

Improved Efficiency: A streamlined immigration system that can handle large tourist volumes more effectively.

Boost to Tourism: Enhances Thailand’s reputation as a modern and traveler-friendly destination.

Economic Growth: A more efficient entry system encourages tourism and business travel, contributing to economic development.

Who is eligible:

The Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) was introduced as a digital alternative to the traditional TM6 immigration form. It’s not mandatory for all travelers yet, and eligibility can depend on how Thailand’s immigration implements it in phases.

Who Must Use TDAC?

  1. Tourists – Anyone visiting for vacation or leisure.

  2. Business Travelers – Coming for meetings, conferences, etc.

  3. Transit Passengers – If passing through Thai airports.

  4. Students and Education Visa Holders

  6. Expats Returning to Thailand

What Happens If You Don't Fill TDAC?

  • You may face delays or denial of entry at immigration.

  • Immigration officers will check if your TDAC form is completed.
